Butcombe launches ale with Adam Henson

17 November, 2011

Butcombe Brewery has teamed up with TV presenter Adam Henson to create a golden ale called Adam Hensonís Rare Breed.

The ale is brewed with Maris Otter barley, Herefordshire hops and Mendip spring water.

It has launched in the 50 biggest Tesco stores in the south west as well as in Booker depots across England and Wales, and will also be available on draught in Butcombeís pub estate and the local free trade in the new year.

Managing director Guy Newell said: ďHaving Adamís name on the beer will appeal to the millions of people who watch him regularly on the television and his endorsement is likely to introduce many new consumers not only to Rare Breed but also the rest of the Butcombe range.Ē

Tescoís local marketing manager for the south Chris Minter said: ďWe are delighted to be able to offer another Butcombe product in the form of Adam Hensonís Rare Breed ale, itís great to be working with such an enthusiastic team and with Adamís pedigree we have very high hopes for the success of this launch.Ē

Butcombe has more than doubled its volume of bottled beer sales over the past twelve months.†

Welcoming the wine rookie

Itís all true. Wine writers loaf around in a state of partial inebriation and partial undress, bitching about having to taste free wine all day and using recondite words like malolactic, terroir and recondite.†
