The estate is in Istria and is run by Ivica Matošević, who started up the winery after a chance meeting with a viticulture professor. He quickly became very passionate about wine and produced his first vintage in 1996.
The estate specialises in Malvasia – a key grape for the region – which mainly comes from vineyards in the Buje area in the north west of Istria.
Wines include the Alba Malvasia, a varietal Malvasia fermented in stainless steel vats and aged on fine lees, and the Alba Barrique, which is aged for 12 months on its lees in French oak barrels.
Matošević will be sold to the independent off-trade, on-trade and private clients.
