New buyer for Majestic

Majestic Wine has appointed Andy Lloyd as its buyer for Chile, Argentina, beer and cider.

Lloyd joined Majestic in 2006 as a trainee manager in its Docklands store. †

He quickly progressed to become manager of the Docklands shop before moving to Covent Garden and then Majesticís Calais superstore.

He was named Young Wine Writer of the Year in 2008 and completed the WSET Diploma with merit in 2009.

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
