Absolut uses iPads to spread the vodka gospel

Absolut is using iPads in selected Tesco stores to demonstrate the versatility of its vodka range.

The devices will be installed in display units from this week and will be loaded with the Drinkspiration app, offering over 3,000 drink ideas with cocktail imagery and video demonstrations for consumers to browse. The application also allows users to create a shopping list, with the quantities required for their chosen drink to make planning for a party easier.

Pernod Ricard UK marketing manager Adam Boita said: “This user-friendly technology appeals to tech-savvy consumers, is the perfect platform to bring the theatre of mixology to life at the point-of-sale and showcases the versatility of the Absolut vodka range in-store”.

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
