The event runs from August 11 to 31 and features discounts on 12 nationally-available products, as well as local brands in some areas.
Organisers hope the promotion will be as successful as Spar’s wine festival, which recently achieved an uplift of 11% in sales of the group’s core range.
Spar marketing manager Andy Burt said: “The three-week promotion will see a host of key brands available at competitive prices to drive footfall and purchase.
“All in-store material is being 100% funded by our major cider suppliers. This is a great opportunity for Spar retailers to be given the tools to create great in-store theatre and offer their full support to the promotion.”
Apple-shaped point of sale materials, as well as banners, bunting, shelf stripping, barkers and posters, will all be available to retailers to help encourage customer trial of new ciders.
There will also be a dedicated feature on the Spar website, including cider recipes, and a competition to win one of five hot air balloon rides.
