National TV for Thatchers Cider

30 June, 2011

Thatchers Cider is embarking on its first national TV and cinema advertising for its flagship brand as part of a £1.5 million spend.

The Somerset cider maker will be advertising Thatchers Gold on Sky Sports and Sky News and Sky Comedy as well as Sky 1, 2 and 3. It is also being extended to cover ITV1 regions Granada and Yorkshire, alongside the core area of Central, West Country, West of England and Meridian, where the campaign has been running since April.

The animated ads have the tagline The People Who Care About Cider and will also be shown in 379 cinemas over the summer, with an estimated 4.8 million admissions.

Posters will support the TV and cinema messages.

Managing director Martin Thatcher said: “This is heavyweight support for our flagship brand. With this additional investment we are now reaching a national audience through Sky channels, focusing in on male targeted programming. Over half of the UK can now see our Thatchers Gold commercial on ITV1.”
