Tesco to hold five wine fairs

26 May, 2011

Tesco expects to attract over 10,000 customers to its five wine fairs this autumn.

The events will take place in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Brighton and Bristol and feature around 300 wines.

The retailer is promising a “comprehensive programme of free workshops” to help consumers get to grips with wine styles and regions, as well as the fundamentals on how to taste wine.

Wine experts including the Tesco wine team, winemakers and wine writers will be in attendance.

Since the first fair in 2004, Tesco says it has put its wines in front of more than 38,750 customers.

Wine category manager Claire Lorains said: “The fairs offer a unique face-to-face opportunity – not only for our customers to learn more about wine from industry experts, but also for us to listen and learn from them.”
