Blue Nun signs deal with movie channel

Blue Nun has signed a sponsorship deal with TCM, the digital film channel.

The German wine brand, recently relaunched in the UK, will sponsor the Thursday night 9pm film slot and the 3pm Sunday matinee strand.

The deal includes two bursts of “bumper” advertising: one which runs to the end of June, and a second between October and December.

To tie in with the deal, Blue Nun bottles are featuring neck-collars promoting a competition to win tickets to the TCM Film Festival in LA, including flights, accommodation and spending money.

The Langguth-owned brand is imported to the UK by Bottle Green. Cash and carry and convenience sales are handled by Halewood International.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
