Vouchers get beer drinkers to eat up

Consumers are being given the opportunity to get money off pub food in a promotion on Kronenbourg 1664.

The direct mail and online marketing campaign builds on a recent shift towards a "with food" marketing theme for the brand, with the launch of new packaging.

The three-month campaign will offer one million consumers the chance to claim money-off vouchers worth up to ú35, which can be redeemed in over 400 pubs with a reputation for good food.

The online activity will also allow consumers to download extra vouchers and enter a daily free prize draw to win a case of Kronenbourg 1664.

Craig Clarkson, head of customer marketing for the off-trade at supplier S&N UK, said: "The brand's continental provenance reinforces Kronenbourg's credentials as a beer to savour with food."

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
