27 September, 2007

John Dunsmore, Scottish & Newcastle's managing director for Western Europe, has been promoted to chief executive.

Dunsmore will take over from current chief executive, Tony Frogatt when he leaves the company on Nov 1.

Sir Brian Stewart, S&N Chairman, said: “The board is very grateful to Tony for his leadership in developing the company during his time as chief executive and we look forward to John Dunsmore continuing to take S&N forward for the benefit of shareholders and stakeholders alike. The directors wish Tony well for the future.”

Dunsmore joined S&N as a graduate trainee in 1980 and went on to work outside the company for 11 years before re-joining as corporate development director in 1996. He has been managing director of the Western European business since May.
