10 October, 2007

Diageo has been confirmed as a launch partner for the first international spirits fair, Distil.

The drinks giant will join Beam Global Spirits & Wine as a main exhibitor at the event which will be held at London's Excel on May 20 and 22 next year.

The event runs in conjunction with the London International Wine Fair and will see spirits shown in a separate building from wine for the first time in the history of the London International Wine & Spirit Fair.

Russell Jones, spirits category director at Diageo said: “The opportunity to communicate directly with the trade will prove invaluable in achieving our objective of driving spirits category growth in 2008 and beyond.”

James Murray, event director added: “With a dedicated show and some excellent brands on board to work alongside us, we are confident that Distil will become the most effective exhibition for the global spirits industry.”
