Small brewers win big prizes

17 October, 2007

Traditional Scottish Ales has picked up the main prize in this year's Local Brewing Business Awards organised by SIBA, the Society of Independent Brewers.

The awards, supported by the Morning Advertiser and Off Licence News, were presented in London this week in recognition of the achievements of the UK's small brewers.

Traditional Scottish Ales, based in Stirling, earned the award for its support for the revival of the Lade Inn near Callander.

TSA was chosen from 10 category winners in the competition, which was introduced by SIBA in 2006 to demonstrate the quality of the businesses run by the society’s members.

Other winners included Castle Rock Brewery, Nottingham, for the best public relations initiative; and Thornbridge Hall Brewing Co, Ashford in the Water, for the best promotion initiative.
