What the OLN imbibers have been sampling this week

Champagne Bonnaire Cuvée Prestige, Grand Cru

Honeyed, toasty notes on the nose of this pale gold sparkler. It has a fine-bubbled freshness with well balanced acidity and a clean, dry finish.RE

Pont du Milieu 2006 Pouilly-Fumé, France

Subtle Sauvignon notes of gooseberry and apple on the nose, bursting into multi-layered flavours on the palate. The wine is youthful and light-bodied but also has a pleasant creaminess, with a dry, elegant finish. RE

Bouchard Père et Fils 2004 Corton-Charlemagne

This Burgundian Grand Cru offers peach on the nose with subtle smokiness, developing into a

burst of peach, white pepper and smoky minerality on the palate which lingers on and on. Stunning.RE

Hidalgo Manzanilla Pasada Pastrana sherry

A single vineyard provides the grapes for this elegant, complex sherry . Created using only free-run juice, it's biologically aged under flor for 12 years in American butts

.RE

Cono Sur Carmenère 2006, Colchagua Valley

A delicate nose of blueberry is in stark contrast to its thick syrupy taste and strong flavours of coffee and blackberry. The earthy undertones make it taste almost like Tia Maria.
