Bitter that stays true to liars
Published:  19 October, 2007

Cumbrian brewer Jennings has launched a guest ale to celebrate its third year sponsoring the World's Biggest Liar competition.

World's Biggest Liar ale is a 4.3 per cent abv dark golden brown bitter which will be sold exclusively in Waitrose in 50cl bottles, as well as on draught in October and November. The World's Biggest Liar competition takes place on Nov 15 at the Bridge Inn in Santon Bridge, Cumbria. Contest ants from all over the world come to impress a 120-strong crowd and independent panel of judges with their implausible stories. Last year's winner was writer, comedian and TV presenter Sue Perkins.

Jennings marketing manager Gaynor Green said: "Jennings has been sponsoring the World's Biggest Liar competition for three years. This year we wanted to mark the internationally renowned event by offering a special guest ale which captures the very essence of the contest. We hope drinkers enjoy the new beer as much as the event itself."
