Ale promises a Rosey glow for parties

19 October, 2007

Batemans' Christmas ale Rosey Nosey is back in shops this month ready for the festive season.

The 4.9 per cent abv brew has national listings in the Co-op and Morrisons and regional listings in the East Midlands in Tesco, Budgens, Londis and Spar.

Stuart Bateman, of the Lincolnshire-based brewer, said: "A winter beer needn't have to be over 6 per cent. We don't want people to collect these and buy them as a gift.

"It's a very drinkable beer designed for Christmas parties and we want people to drink it, not look at it."

Thirty Tesco shops in the east of England will be stocking Batemans' core range - XXXB, Combined Harvest and Victory Ale - as well as its seasonal ales, which include Dark Lord, Spring Breeze, Summer Swallow, Autumn Fall and Rosey Nosey.

The brewer is planning a brewery trip and tutored tastings for Tesco store managers to support the listing.

Tesco's regional senior buying manager Sam Nundy said: "I am born and bred in Boston, Lincolnshire, and am delighted to be able to support my home town brewery.

We believe that our customers increasingly like to support local producers and we are confident that Batemans' expanded range will prove to be a popular

decision."
