Champagne Pommery has added two new products to its POP range especially for Christmas. Gold POP Vintage 2002 comes in a 20cl gold bottle with an rrp of £12.99. A "Bling" gift pack featuring a 20cl bottle of Non-Vintage Champagne in silver and one in gold is also being sold through John Lewis for £24.99. Pommery is distributed in the UK by Percy Fox and Justerini & Brooks.

Liberty Wines has appointed Andy Brown as director of national accounts. Brown joins from the Lion Nathan Wine Group, where he was general manager for UK and Europe for three years.

Before this, Brown was national accounts manager for Thierry's and a wine buyer for Thresher Group.

The Fladgate Partnership, which owns Taylor's, Fonseca, Croft and Delaforce ports among its portfolio, has bought 50 h a

of grade A quality vineyards at Quinta da Eira Velha from the Newman family. The historic Quinta, which dates back to 1513, joins the Fladgate Partnership's premium portfolio of grade A Douro properties.Managing director Adrian Bridge said: "Despite the number of growers recorded in the Douro Valley it's rare to find an estate of this quality and size on the market."
