Wine-sized bottle for Innis & Gunn

02 November, 2007

Scottish brewery Innis & Gunn is launching its first wine-sized bottle

for its original 6.6 per cent abv Oak Aged Beer.

The 75cl bottle will be available from this month in Sainsbury's and Waitrose

and will cost £3.19.

Managing director Dougal Sharp said: "With speciality beers growing in popularity as an accompaniment to food, the

75cl Innis & Gunn is ideal for sharing at dinner parties and with friends. We receive a lot of feedback from customers about how great Innis & Gunn is with food, and we're hoping that

a larger sized bottle will meet this demand."

He added: "Last month we showcased it at a dinner with Mark Hix at the Ivy, serving it with his legendary stargazey pie, which won the main course section at the recent Great British Menu."

For the festive season Innis & Gunn is releasing

Innis & Gunn Rum Cask Finish (7.4 per cent abv, £1.99) and Cask Strength (7.7 per cent abv, £1.99).

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas
