Peated interest growth catered to

02 November, 2007

Tomintoul Distillery has released two new expressions of its single malt.

Joining the existing range of 10, 16 and 27 Year Old s is a single peated malt which will be branded: Tomintoul, The Gentle Dram With a Peaty Tang.

Brand development director Duncan Baldwin said: "There is a small but growing interest among

malt whisky drinkers in peated malts from the classic Speyside Glenlivet region. Despite the fact that we describe the expression 'with a peaty tang', the brand still retains some of the gentle characteristics that are the hallmark of the Tomintoul range."

Also being launched in the UK is a limited edition 12 Year Old single malt which has spent the

past 18 months of maturation in oloroso

sherry butts.

Both

new expressions are bottled at 40 per cent abv and are available in cases of 6x70cl bottles packaged in cylindrical presentation cartons. Peaty Tang will retail for around £22 per bottle and Tomintoul 12 Year Old Oloroso Cask Finish will sell for around £30 per bottle.
