Cains launches beer in pint-sized can

Cains is to bring the pint into the off-trade with the launch of its Formidable Ale brand in one pint cans.

The Liverpool-based brewer decided to offer the golden ale in the new format to celebrate a ruling by the European Union to allow the UK to keep imperial measurements.

Cains chief executive Sudarghara Dusanj, said: “The pint is a cornerstone of British culture and, as one of the UK’s leading craft brewers, we’re keen to celebrate this great British tradition and bring the pint firmly into the off-trade."

Cains FA in pint form will go on sale in Asda this month. The launch forms part of Cains' Best of British concept which has seen the company invest in a series of refurbishments across its 105-strong pub estate.

Hofmeister may need more than the bear essentials to succeed
