Organic wine tastings planned for spring

15 January, 2008

Organic and biodynamic wine specialist Vintage Roots will be holding a series of tastings in the UK this spring.

The tastings, in Edinburgh, Bristol and London will showcase a selection of the supplier's 300 wines, including the Emiliana Organico range from Chilean biodynamics expert Alvaro Espinoza and Stellar's no added sulphur range from South Africa.

A number of organic producers, including Fasoli Gino from Veneto in Italy, will also be flying over to the UK to join the Vintage Roots team.

Vintage Roots director Lance Pigott said the company added 44 new organic wines to its list and increased the size of its sales team last year due to growing demand for organic wine.

He said: "Increasingly, we are finding that leading hotels, restaurants and retailers are recognising our products not just for their organic, biodynamic or Fairtrade status, but for their quality and competitive prices. They also value our enthusiasm for working closely with them to increase sales and knowledge."

The tastings will take place at the Glasshouse Hotel in Edinburgh on Feb 4, The Paintworks in Bristol on Feb 11 and The Worx in Fulham, London on March 12.
