Top 100 competition open for entries

25 January, 2008

The competition to find the best 100 Vins de Pays is up and running - so don't miss out on your chance to get your wines on this prestigious list.

The competition, now in its fifth year, has become a powerful marketing tool for both the UK trade and French producers, and it has created a benchmark against which other Vins de Pays and wines from across the world can compare themselves.

The results are published in OLN, and the winning wines are exhibited

at the annual London International Wine Fair.

A team of expert judges, chaired by OLN's wine editor at large, Tim Atkin MW, will taste hundreds of wines blind to shortlist the best 100 and award trophies for really outstanding offerings.

Atkin said: "The Top 100 Vins de Pays competition has established itself as an important and successful competition in the UK. In the past, we have benefited from the expertise of some very experienced judges, and this year is no exception. Once again, I'm sure that the entries will demonstrate the value for money and stylistic diversity of French Vins de Pays."

The competition is organised by Vins de Pays and Vins de Table body ANIVIT, in association with Languedoc producers' organisation Inter Oc.

It is open to all Vins de Pays from France. The closing date for entries is March 7 and all wines must be delivered by March 14.

Entry is free and companies can make more than one entry. Find out more at
