French gin joins vodka for Gireau

The Gireau Corporation is introducing a French gin in the UK following the launch of a vodka last year.

Both the spirits are made in France from 100% French ingredients and distilled four times.

Gireau Premium French Gin is made from pure grain wheat and spring water, with the addition of juniper berry extract.

A spokesman said the spirits were designed for sipping, either over ice or from the freezer.

Gireau Premium French Vodka and Premium French Gin will be available to taste at Distil next month.

Visitors to the stand at the London show will also be invited to enter a free prize draw to win dinner for two at the Malmaison hotel of their choice.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines. Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
