Alliance Wine has added Stellenbosch producer

Raats Family Wines

to its South African portfolio. The range includes Raats Chenin Blanc 2006, which scored 91 points in April's issue of Wine Spectator for the fourth year in a row. Bruwer Raats said: "I'm very excited about working with the dynamic young team at Alliance and feel at home among

their quality-focused portfolio." Also in the range is Raats Original Chenin Blanc 2007, a 2006 Cabernet Franc and Bordeaux blend MR de Compostella 2005.

Portuguese wine group Sogrape has bought Chilean winery Château Los Boldos to help boost its presence in the world's biggest markets. The acquisition is the company's third in the New World following its purchase of Finca Flichman in Argentina and Framingham in New Zealand.

Trentino co-operative Cavit has repackaged its Bottega Vinai range. The brand name is

now

embossed

and varietal details have been added in a clearer font over the image of an Italian palazzo. Export manager Claudio Gambarotto said: "We believe the clean elegance of its new packaging gives the range a fresh appeal

and helps convey the classic style of Trentino ." The range has an rrp of £7.99 and is distributed in the UK by Meridian Wines.

Fromvineyardsdirect.com has added a trio of wines from the Vinding-Diers family to its portfolio of online wines. La Famiglia 2006 is from the foothills of Mount Etna in Sicily and is made by winemaker Peter Vinding-Diers from Nero d'Avola (rrp £10.95 or £131.40 for a case of 12). Mirabel 2006 (£12.95/ £155.40) and Coupage 2004 (£8.55/£102.60) both come from Extremadura in Spain and are made by Peter's son
