The Drostdy-Hof Bursary Scheme is designed to give disadvantaged individuals the chance to develop a career in the wine and spirits sector.
Gary Greenfield, Distell Europe's managing director, said: "There are certain skills shortages in South Africa's wine industry, yet there are so many young South Africans who are very talented and want to pursue careers in this field. We are hoping
our bursaries can help these young, enthusiastic individuals take their studies further and join South Africa's wine industry."
The first three recipients of the bursaries - Clarence McClune, Royston Kyle Moses and Thapelo Mokomele - will be given an insight into work at Distell during their studies and the chance to work for the company afterwards.
