Bulmers launches summer TV ads

Over-ice cider Bulmers is celebrating Britain's unpredictable summer weather in a new TV ad which launches on May 5.

The 30-second ad is called Our Summer and features a voiceover by TV actor Stephen Tompkinson. It will air on satellite and terrestrial channels and is part of a £20 million marketing programme for the brand.

Marketing manager Graeme Mckenzie said: “The campaign is built around the proposition that the unpredictable nature of the British summer brings out the resourceful and optimistic side of our character and the new 30-second film captures the uniquely British approach to the unpredictable weather perfectly.”

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
