Father's Day treat in rum cask beer

02 May, 2008

Boutique Scottish brewer Innis & Gunn is releasing a limited edition Rum Cask Finish beer for Father's Day.

The company, which has made its name producing beer aged in casks that have formerly been used to age Scotch whisky, will be making the 7.4% abv beer available in 33cl bottles in Sainsbury's stores for five weeks from April 28.

The full retail price will be £2.09, but there will be 25% off for the first three weeks.

The beer comes in a black gift box.

Dougal Sharp, Innis & Gunn managing director, said: "We are delighted with how well this beer has matured in rum casks. It has resulted in a deliciously rich, spicy brew with citrus, vanilla and smoky notes."
