in a black leather box featuring a metal stag's head. The Jura 1974 has a price tag of £499 and

comes in an antique hinged box with gold lettering. Both releases

have a

signed certificate of authenticity from master distiller Richard Paterson.

Spirits producer Old St Andrews has begun a push for gin brand Pink 47 in the off-trade after winning a hat-trick of awards. The premium London dry gin, which has an abv of 47%, will be on shelves in Tesco this month after winning top UK spirit in the Tesco 2008 Drinks Awards. The brand, which has an rrp of £19 and is expected to appeal to women, also won a silver medal in the International Spirits Challenge 2007 and was commended in the Bartenders Challenge 2007.

Halewood International has secured a listing in Sainsbury's for its recently launched pre-mixed vodka and tonic in a can. A four-pack will retail for £4.99 and will be merchandised in the spirits fixture alongside gin and vodka brands.

governor of the Bank of Ireland, has unveiled the new-look

Northern Ireland banknotes featuring the Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim. A new £5 note will also go into circulation to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the distillery's licence to distil.

Photographer and film producer Mike Figgis has created a series of images inspired by Glenmorangie and the five senses. The exhibition - Glenmorangie 5 Senses - is free to the public and will run for two weeks from May 13 at Proud Camden

in the Stables Market in Camden. A specially-created cocktail containing Glenmorangie Original, fresh lemon, honey and sugar syrup will be exclusively poured during the show.

Islay-based whiskey distillery Bruichladdich has reported a 58% increase in pre-tax profits for the year to Dec 31 2007

- up to £831,000. Single malt sales increased 34% against average industry growth of 3%, according to the distiller, who added that, despite high barley and oil costs, distillation volumes increased by 10%.
