Cider maker Aspall has produced two 12-bottle selection cases for Majestic. One box contains four bottles each of Aspall's Premier Cru, Organic and Draught Suffolk Cyder products, and the other 12 bottles of Draught.

Scottish & Newcastle has replaced the 1-litre SKU for San Miguel lager with a 66cl bottle, to "enhance its premium image while enabling the product to be shared with friends".

SHS Sales & Marketing has given Pulse cider a packaging redesign. The strong white cider is sold in 1-litre and 2-litre PET packs.

Sainsbury's is listing a 12-pack of 25cl stubby bottles of Shepherd Neame's Spitfire ale through the summer. The Kent brewer said distribution of the new format could be extended later this year. The 12-pack is selling for £7.99.

A fleet of 20 trucks carrying 120,000 litres of drinking water has been sent to cyclone victims in Burma by Boon Rawd, the brewer of Singha beer in neighbouring Thailand.

Riedel subsidiary Spiegelau has

a range of glasses for different types of beer. There is a stemmed pilsner glass, a lager glass also suitable for ales, and a glass for wheat beers.

An eight-pack of Bulmers Pear bottled cider is being launched by Scottish & Newcastle UK (S&N UK) at the end of June. S&N UK has also introduced a 33cl PET for Bulmers Original, for sport and music venues.

Budweiser has launched a range of barbecue sauces created by the executive chef at one of Anheuser-Busch's American resorts and the company's brewmasters. The sauces are

being listed by British supermarkets and distributed in the UK by RH Amar.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines. Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
