The beer’s development and production is the subject of a forthcoming three-part Channel 4 series, Morrissey’s Perfect Pint, to be screened this summer. It is described as a summer ale, called Morrissey Fox, with an abv of 3.8 per cent.
The show presents the pair with the challenge of brewing their own beer, marketing it and winning space on supermarket shelves. The programme, dubbed the “Top Gear of beer”, is accompanied by a book which combines informative chapters on tasting, the history of brewing and beer trivia with more tongue-in-cheek sections featuring hangover cures and jokes.
Morrissey, who owns a hotel in Wales and a club in London, recently joined forces with Fox to buy a pub in the North Yorkshire village of Marton-cum-Grafton.
