Dooley's Original Toffee & Vodka has teamed up with as part of a campaign to target Dooley's core female consumers.

During July, visitors to the

website will be able to take part in a competition to win one of 1,000 bottles of Dooley's by submitting their best girls-night-in story.

Ian Macleod Distillers has added a new finish to its range of single malts with the launch of Glengoyne Glenguin Shiraz Cask Finish 16 Year Old. Twenty casks previously used to mature Shiraz

from Australia's Hunter Valley were filled with 16 Year Old Glengoyne in autumn 2007. Available in 70cl and 75cl bottles at 48% abv, 3,800 limited edition and individually numbered bottles will retail worldwide

for around £60.

Plymouth Gin was the headline sponsor of two races at Ascot last week. As well as sponsoring the Plymouth Gin Summer Mile, the brand also had its own cocktail bar in the public paddock. Maxxium UK's brand manager for Plymouth Gin, Andrew Jack, said: "Having both been established in the 18th

century, Ascot and Plymouth Gin are quintessentially English and the partnership is a fantastic opportunity to bring together people that love our product and share a common interest."

Golden rum brand Appleton Estate is sponsoring an enclosure at this year's Henley Royal Regatta on July 2-6. As well as sampling Appleton Estate V/X, Appleton Estate 12 Year Old and newly launched Appleton Estate 8 Year Old Reserve, visitors to the Appleton Estate enclosure will be able to buy pitchers of two Appleton Estate V/X rum cocktails - the Cranberry Cooler and the Jamaican Mule. Brand owner J Wray & Nephew has appointed Maxxium's Craig Stuart as brand manager for rum.

West Eleven is bringing its range of cocktails in a bottle to the off-trade. The five variants - Classic Mojito, Passionfruit Mai Tai, Blueberry Bramble, Pomegranate Cosmo and Elderflower Collins - range from 8.1% abv to 8.5% abv and are made in the UK from authentic raw ingredients, including 100% grain vodka, hand-blended Jamaican and Cuban rums and natural fruit. A 25cl bottle contains two serves.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines. Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
