Thresher extends payroll contract

Thresher is continuing to outsource its payroll management by extending a contract with IT firm Atos Origin for a further three years.

Atos was instrumental in helping Thresher integrate 200 Unwins stores into the estate and

will be responsible for ensuring the company's 9,000 employees are paid correctly and on time.

The IT company said its management of the payroll system had led to "efficiencies in excess of 50%, while at the same time delivering an enhanced service".

The system allows the online entry of new starter details and timesheets, and enquiry facilities for payslips and salary .

Rosemary Alexander, financial accounting director for Thresher, said: "Paying our employees correctly and on time is of utmost importance and we have every confidence that by working with Atos Origin, we can continue to provide an excellent payroll service ."

Atos Origin also provided

advice to help Thresher 's district managers

better understand

the payroll system.
