Bloggers stage net arena for Rioja
Published:  25 July, 2008

A conference for wine bloggers is being held in Rioja

next month.

The event is being described as "a first attempt to bring together different voices from the wine blogosphere from throughout Europe and the rest of the world to drink, eat and discuss".

The conference will include sessions on writing and the rating of wine, plus tastings and visits to wineries.

According to the organisers: "It is an exciting time for those who blog regularly about wine. The trade is waking up to the benefits of interacting with bloggers, and together, we represent a potential alternative to the traditional media."

The event is being organised by UK blogger Robert McIntosh and is expected to attract between 30 and 40 delegates.
