Wine cabinet preserves open bottles for 10 days

11 July, 2008

A refrigerated cabinet that gives opened bottles a 10-day life span has been launched by French wine storage supplier EuroCave.

Sowine enables consumers to store two bottles of wine at the correct temperature and in an

airtight environment for up to 10 days after opening.

The cabinet features two

compartments that can be set to the temperature best suited to the type of wine.

It also helps preserve the wine and protect it from oxidation by automatically removing any air from within the storage compartment.

Sowine is designed for use in the home and "reflects current trends towards reduction in alcohol consumption, as it enables consumers to enjoy a single glass of wine without the need to finish the bottle", according to a spokesman.

It costs €350 (£279) and can be ordered online at aroundwine.co.uk/acatalog/sowine-bar.html.
