08 August, 2008

Berry Bros & Rudd has launched a

partner to its famous Good Ordinary Claret.

The wine, Good Ordinary White, replaces Berrys' Bordeaux Sauvignon Blanc and will retail for £7.20 a bottle.

Made by Dourthe, the wine is 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon, and is made for the company in Bordeaux .

According to Berrys, the 12.5% abv wine "exudes luscious, creamy, tropical fruit alongside notes of fresh grapefruit".

It adds: "With an intense, smoky nose, a smooth texture and superb concentration, this is wonderful to drink now and exemplifies the excellent quality of Bordeaux's white wines in 2007."

Like other wines in the Berry's Own Selection range, Good Ordinary White is now being packaged with details of alcohol units on the label.
