Hancocks expands own-label range

The Hancocks cash and carry group is adding four new gift products to its exclusive Solen chocolate range for the Christmas market.

The Max bar, Max bar Assorted and Wish packs are all 200g, with an rrp of £1.49, giving a 38% retail margin.

The fourth product, Diamond Heart, is a heart-shaped box containing hazelnut chocolates, with an

rrp of £1.99, and

again a margin of 38%.

Hancocks will also be adding to its Kingsway range of

sweets such as liquorice allsorts and wine gums, with the introduction of

300g cartons , and a new 185g mint selection is joining

the group's Beechs range.

Purchasing director Richard Brittle said: "Christmas 2008 is going to

different to 2007, with consumers looking to be careful with their spending and seeking our best value options. "
