Innovations all round from Distell

Distell has extended its range with some entry-level, health-conscious and environmentally friendly innovations, to be unveiled at Cape Wine.

Two Oceans has launched a Fruity range, based on "the style and taste that British consumers look for in wine - fresh, soft and fruity". The range - a

medium-bodied red and crisp,

fruity white - will be stocked in cash and carries and targeted at the convenience sector.

The brand has also launched Two Oceans Light, an early-picked, lower abv range currently in white and rosé, with red to come soon.

Distell has also released several new packages - a slimline bag-in-box to make storage easier, a 1-litre Tetra Pak and a pouch which it hopes to launch in the UK soon.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines. Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
