Mars raises the bar and lowers calories

Mars is communicating the nutritional changes to its core chocolate bar brands through a new print ad campaign.

Called Raising the Bar, it is the first time that Mars has used multiple brands in one campaign. Ads will run in national and women's consumer press from this month,




Mars, Twix, Milky Way and Snickers have been made free from artificial colours, flavourings and preservatives

and the calorie count of funsize

Milky Way, Maltesers, Mars and Twix

has been reduced to less than 100 calories.

Fiona Dawson, managing director of Mars Snackfood, said:



the first step in

mak ing positive

changes to our confectionery products ."

Hofmeister may need more than the bear essentials to succeed

So, George The Bear is back. Itís hard for some of us oldies to fathom, but there are those under, say, 40 who canít actually remember Hofmeister and feel the cultural jolt supplied by the return of both the bear and the beer whose marketing campaigns it used to front.
