Win a vineyard and take a walk on the wine side

Visitors to next week's consumer-oriented Wine Show will have the chance to win a vineyard in Argentina.

The competition on the Someplace Else stand will give the winner a vineyard valued at £15,000 and an annual supply of 144 personalised bottles of wine.

The Coutts Private Cellar is an area showcasing wines from top wine merchants such as Justerini & Brooks, Armit and Lay & Wheeler.

There will

be the chance to take a wine walk with members of the Wine Gang, the recently-launched collective of wine writers including OLN's Tim Atkin MW.

Visitors can take part in a Nintendo Wii competition at the Rhône Zone, where they will be entered into a draw to win a luxury weekend in the Rhône Valley.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines. Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
