A taste for beer with interactive flavour course

17 October, 2008

A former master brewer for Bass and Prague breweries has created an interactive guide to the top 25 ale, lager and lambic beer styles to help train retailers.

All Beer Experience has been designed by Alex Barlow as a low-cost alternative to tutored beer courses.

It comes in a gift bag with a crystal tasting glass, scratch and sniff aroma samples, sachets of malts to taste and a book of interactive tasting exercises, flavour descriptions and anorak facts.

Barlow, who has worked for 25 years as a consultant for brewers in the UK and abroad, believes people in the brewing industry would rather learn at home than be sent on expensive courses.

"Staff can get a decent level of appreciation in a matter of hours. It's an interactive flavour course that's clear, concise and accessible without being formal or academic," he said.

The pack costs £22.50 and can be ordered online at allbeer.co.uk
