Brands renew sponsorship deals

Manchester United and Budweiser have extended their sponsorship deal through the 2009/ 10 season.

The contract gives Budweiser rights to use Manchester United logos and player images in advertising, POS and packaging.

It will come as a relief to the team, as the future of its deal with American insurance giant AIG still looks uncertain .

Meanwhile, Strongbow is renewing its Bowtime sponsorship deal with Talksport radio for another 12 months.

The broadcast sponsorship will continue the brand's association with Ian Wright and Adrian Durham's Monday-Thursday radio show and Mike Parry and Andy Townsend's Friday broadcast.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines. Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
