Sheps takes the helm at Carlsberg UK

31 October, 2008

Carlsberg UK has appointed a new chief executive - Isaac Sheps, 59, who took up the position last week.

He was in charge of Carlsberg South East Europe before the move.

Former chief executive Doug Clydesdale is "looking for fresh challenges" after three years as chief executive and 11 years with the business, according to the company.

J°rgen Buhl Rasmussen, Carlsberg's president and chief executive thanked Clydesdale for his contribution and said Carlsberg UK had "clearly demonstrated good improvements" under his leadership.

Rasmussen added: " The ambition is to bring the UK's earnings closer in line with Carlsberg's targets for western Europe."
