Paradox Smokehead is a 10% abv version of its Paradox stout, aged in barrels that have previously held the Ian Macleod Distillers whisky.
The beer has been given a £3.99 rrp for a 33cl bottle.
Brewdog managing director James Watt said: “This latest partnership with the Smokehead has taken Paradox to a whole new level, and we’ve been really pleased with the amount of interest we’ve already had in this new creation.”
Ian Macloed marketing director Iain Weir added: “Brewdog is a dynamic force in the brewing industry and as such is a perfect fit for Smokehead.
“There are great synergies between the two brands, their target markets and the philosophies of our two independent companies.”
Brewdog has faced criticism that the strength and packaging of some of its beers, but has defended them on the grounds of their relative scarcity, unsuitability for session drinking and prohibitive pricing.
Beers from its core range are listed by Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Oddbins and many independent beer shops.
