Black Grouse in TV campaign

05 December, 2008

Black Grouse is appearing in TV ads for the first time as part of Maxxium’s £1.5 million spend on its parent brand, the Famous Grouse.

The first ad appears tonight (Dec 5) during Gordon Ramsay’s Cookalong Live, which is screened on Channel Four at 9pm. The campaign will be aired throughout December on terrestrial and satellite channels.

The Stormy Night ad “retains the humorous, witty and offbeat style for which the Famous Grouse has become renowned,” accoding to Maxxium.

Brand manager Lee Walker said: “The Famous Grouse ad campaign is something of a festive tradition and this year, we have a new feather in our cap – the introduction of the flamboyant Black Grouse, who is even more of a performer than his iconic cousin.

“The liquid is already an award winner and the Black Grouse is performing exceedingly well and this advert will further draw consumers to the darker side of the Famous Grouse.”

The new campaign supports the partnership between The Black Grouse and the RSPB to help save the real black grouse from extinction. A 50p donation from every bottle sold is invested into conservation work on 85,000 hectares of natural habitat across Scotland, England and Wales.
