15 December, 2008

MoŽt Hennessy has bought Montaudon Champagne for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will see Reims-based Montaudon join a portfolio which includes Dom Pťrignon, MoŽt & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, Krug, Ruinart and Mercier.

Founded in 1891, the Montaudon family business has recently invested in a new production site at Croix-Blandin. The company employs 29 people and exports to 25 countries.

MoŽt Hennessy chairman Christophe Navarre said: ďThe acquisition of Montaudon enables us to complete our portfolio of prestigious brands and to increase our Champagne reserves. This corresponds with MoŽt Hennessyís strategy to strengthen its worldwide leadership in the luxury wines and spirits sector.Ē
