Rare Scapa whisky gets makeover

Old version of its Scapa single malt from Orkney with a rarer 16

Year

Old variant.

The whisky is now being relaunched in new-look packaging in the UK (rrp £50).

Brand director Neil Macdonald said: "Since Chivas Brothers acquired Scapa in 2005, we have taken great care to improve the stock profile which means we are now in a position to release this very rare, precious new expression."

The bottle has been made taller to appeal to "younger, more style-conscious consumers", Macdonald added. A

new label will also feature the brand's new logo - a traditional Orcadian yole, or boat, which translates to

"scapa" in Norse.

What makes wine special

Reaching the 50th instalment of Hemmingís Way is hardly the biggest milestone, but I donít need much of an excuse to pour myself a glass of champagne before getting dressed. Itís a better reason than I had for all 49 other instalments, anyway. Not that that stopped me.
