Delamain doubles up for gift box set

Mentzendorff has packaged two Cognacs from family-run house Delamain in a

gift box.

Available in the UK from this month, the Delamain


is presented in a wooden case with a transparent cover (rrp £50).

The gift pack contains a 20cl bottle of Delamain Pale & Dry XO, a blend produced exclusively from Grande Champagne Cognacs, with an average age of 25 years , and a 20cl bottle of Delamain Vesper XO. At an average age of 35 years, the Vesper has aromas of mushrooms and vanilla, and a mellow, full-bodied palate, according to a spokeswoman.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines. Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
