Jameson Irish Whiskey has strengthened its association with film by signing a deal to become the title sponsor of the Empire Awards 2009. The partnership will include

coverage in the next six editions of Empire

and exclusive spirit status at the awards ceremony in March, including sponsorship of the Best Actor award.

Beam Global UK has unveiled this year's list of young entrepreneurs accepted into its Courvoisier The Future 500 club. The online network forms part of Courvoisier's UK marketing investment, which reached

£11 million this year and will increase even further in 2009, according to brand manager Claire Richards. A members' launch party, networking events

and tutored tastings will back the initiative.

Cellar Trends is rolling out a ceramic yachting decanter this Christmas containing 1 litre of Pusser's Rum (rrp £89).

Italian liqueur Tuaca has appointed Ron Frith as brand ambassador. Currently bar manager at Mix Bar in Reading, Frith will promote the brand at industry events and run educational training programmes.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

All across England and Wales, vineyards are being harvested. Down winding country lanes come armies of welly-wearing conscripts wielding secateurs and buckets, ready to reap the rewards of our vines. Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
