Mount and Paul set up wine consultancy

05 January, 2009

Two of the UK wine trade’s best known personalities have teamed up to form a new consultancy business.

Former Somerfield buyer Angela Mount and one-time Southcorp Europe boss Mike Paul have formed Mount & Paul Wine Industry Solutions.

The company will focus on helping wine producers from around the world realise their potential, but will operate in other parts of the supply chain as well.

Paul said: “Our experience is highly complementary. Angela has a wealth of experience in the UK retail sector while my experience is largely managing distributors and in wine brand development.”

Mount added: “We feel we can offer a one-stop shop for producers and brand owners who are looking to review their corporate strategy or their approach to different markets.

“These are challenging times but given the fragmentation of the sector and the strength of wine as a category, there will be plenty of opportunities for competitive gain.”
