Co-op adds to Fairtrade range

04 February, 2009

The Co-op is launching an own-brand Fairtrade rosé wine and 3-litre Fairtrade Sauvignon Blanc wine box.

Both new products will be on shelf in time for Fairtrade Fortnight, which runs from Feb 23 to March 8.

The rosé comes from Mendoza in Argentina, where the Fairtrade project provides sports clubs and is developing a park for the local community.

The wine box is from Chile, where the Fairtrade premium is going towards creches, school renovation and healthcare.

The Co-op will have offers on all own-brand Fairtrade wines for Fairtrade Fortnight.

Category marketing manager Vicky Wood said: “The new additions to the range will strengthen our leading Fairtrade wine offering.

“We’re sure that our customers will appreciate the benefits that go back to the growers who produce them.”
