The pair – who host BBC’s Return to Tuscany programme – will pick two finalists in a competition in the May issue of Delicious magazine, to find the country’s best husband and wife cooking team.
The finalists will compete in a cook-off at La Cucina Caldesi – the Caldesis’ cookery school – in September.
The winners will get a trip to the Castello di Gabbiano, where the wine is made, and the winning Italian dish will be put on the menu at the Caffé Caldesi, in London’s Marylebone.
There will also be an online video feed of the Caldesis demonstrating recipes they have developed for the brand.
Lucy Zorina, brand manager at Gabbiano firm Foster’s EMEA, said Giancarlo and Katie Caldesi were “a perfect reflection of Gabbiano’s core values, which are all about enjoying good food with family”.
She added: “Last year we saw Gabbiano performing solidly in the market and with the extensive platform of activities planned for 2009 in partnership with the pair, we expect to see further increase on this success.”
